If you’re a business owner, or entrepreneur I really believe you absolutely must have a Website or Blog on WordPress for your potential customers, or business partners to get to know more about you, and your products or services. Almost every day I’m asked by a business partner, or others searching for guidance how to get started with a WordPress Blog.
For over 15 years I’ve been helping people get started growing their business online. Regardless whether you’re a solo-entrepreneur business, in network marketing, or direct sales you should begin establishing your online presence as soon as possible. It’s not as complicated, or difficult as you might think.
When coaching my Internet Marketing clients I want them to first understand how your business online is like a wheel. Your different marketing methods are like lines in the water, or the spokes of a wheel, with the center of that wheel being your WordPress website, or blog. All those spokes drive traffic to your central hub, which is where conversions of traffic, and new contacts begin the process of conversion into buying customers, clients, or business partners.
Some of these spokes are your different social media profiles like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, Periscope, etc. Each of these drive traffic to your blog, and your blog also helps them connect with your other profiles on social media. Some of the other spokes of your marketing wheel might be a coupon that sends people to your website, your email list, and autoresponder like Aweber, your business card, and direct mail, radio, television, newspaper, magazine, or print media.
Each of these are important spokes of the wheel, capable of helping you capture the contact information of your “prospect” and helping them learn more about your, your products, and service.
When it comes to WordPress, Blogging, and Internet Marketing I’m completely self-taught, and at one time was very intimidated, and frustrated as I watched others build virtual online empires. Even though I’ve been an avid student, and practitioner of personal growth and development for well over 20 years, my self-talk about WordPress and Blogging was terrible! It was filled with all kinds of words like “I can’t, I don’t understand, it’s too complicated, too techy, I’m too old, blah-blah-blah.”
Until the day I looked into the mirror and said out loud “Just stop it! If anyone can do this, you can too. And you’re going to get started right now.” And I walked to my computer and typed into Google “How to Set Up a WordPress Blog” found a tutorial, and with sweaty hands and a racing heart… began. Within 3 hours I had hosting and nameservers set up, WordPress installed, had chosen and customized a theme, settings, plugins, and widgets.
And I’ve never looked back. I actually own, and maintain over 25 websites, all with WordPress, and each on various topics, and niches!
So if you’re ready to begin, let’s get started and help you with my tutorial on “How to Set Up a WordPress Blog“
